An ADAPTABLE DWELLING UNIT is defined in the the CBC as
“An accessible dwelling unit within a covered multifamily building as designed with elements and spaces allowing the dwelling unit to be adapted or adjusted to accommodate the user.”
There are mobility, communication and adaptable dwelling units.
Typically most of us refer to this as a townhome. We will be focusing on non elevatored buildings as they are the most common.
